Graduation

Today was my graduation day. I've been through quite a lot of graduations from kindergarden, primary, secondary and JC. But this one's the most 'formal' and 'grand' so far! With the graduation gown, cap and all... Initially i was feeling quite sian about it, was thinking what's the point of it all, it's just going through the motions... But i was glad i went for it in the end :) You feel different when you don those huge gowns, don't know how to describe it, you just feel... different. A friend said perhaps you feel your status changes. Perhaps. Had to pay a whopping 36pounds just to rent it for a few hours! To feel a change in status. heh. Yup so after that, i feel like a normal person again :P Well, it was good fun, trying to make that cap stay on my head. Finding i was wearing it the opposite direction the whole time round.
Seeing all those colourful gowns, professors, chancellors, deans and big people on stage, it was quite an atmosphere indeed.
I can only thank God for being able to be standing there receiving my degree.
And thank you friends, for all you've been and done, known and unknown :)
My mom and sis were here too, i can't say that my mom has been a direct support to me in my studies, but i guess just being there to talk to me for an hour on the phone each week does help lar :) Well, was nice to have family here nevertheless. Met up with all my friends families as well. Was quite a sight lar! All the aunties and uncles... and their children, i.e. us

Next thing up for me is... travelling! Yes, again. Seems like i've gotten the 'cant sit still' bug from my mom. Going to Bath, London, Greece and Iceland for about 2 1/2 weeks... I hope it'll be a good time of bonding with my sis and mom which hasn't happened for decades. Pray that we'll have a meaningful time together, and i'll keep my cool and be patient and loving to them!

Sometimes I wonder what lies ahead
How long till my hunger is fed
They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
So many people on this merry-go-round

Some folks try astrology
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer, To get through it all
I just fall on my knees and I try to pray
In the silence I can hear Him say

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time

I often feel like I'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I'm stubborn in the things I believe

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign

'cause maybe there's another plan
One I still can't see
A little surprise, like your love in my life
Funny how time changes how we see

The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
Everything in its time
